Howdy @CST!
CST will meet tonight from 7pm to 8:30pm!
We'll be working through either the Natas box from OverTheWire, learning about server-side web security.
Hope to see you there!! ^.^
Today, we're going to focus on the boxes from OverTheWire.
We've previously done the Bandit box from OverTheWire. (Solutions are on Zack's blog)
Today, we're going to learn about web security with the Natas box.
To get started with Natas, head to https://ctf.nkcyber.org/.
We have challenges representing the first 28 of 34 challenges.
We are playing on the honor system.
If you cheat for a challenge, you must deduct your own points for that challenge.
There are a variety of solutions available if you get stuck, but I encourage you to work through the challenges for the learning experience.
I just re-used the CTFd setup on ctf.nkcyber.org.
NKCyber GitHub members can see the setup at https://github.com/nkcyber/otw-natas-ctfd.
Using the CTFd CLI, you should just have to do something like:
# To set up challenges:
ctf challenge install
# To make changes:
# <edit template.yaml or generate.py>
python3 generate.py
ctf challenge sync
